Labour Day : 5 Labour Monument In The World

Some countries have labor monument in honor of the workers. Labor monument was the main attraction for the traveler. There is also the history and stories that you can make a lesson.

1. The Monument to the Korean Workers Party, North Korea

North Korean state upholds the lives of the workers. This is symbolized by the Monument to the Korean Workers Party. The labor monument in Pyongyang was founded in 1995 and has a height of 50 meters.

The monument is shaped three hands, each holding a hammer, sickle, and brush. It means the hammer symbolizes the workers, the peasants describe the sickle, and brush that is in the center symbolizes the intellectual. Under the monuments, there is writing that is embossed 'Long live the Workers Party of Korea roomates organizes and guides all Victories for the Korean people!'.





2. Monument to Labour, Belgia


When travel to Brussels, Belgium sempatkanlah visited Monument to Labour. This monument is dedicated to the workers in Belgium. Monument to Labour built by Constantin Meunier. He is a Belgian artist famous in the 19th century. He builds many sculptures in Belgium. Apparently, Monument to Labour is that his work is not finished!

Monument to labor has four sides, each side symbolize the laborers working in the fields of farmers, miners, industrial workers, and workers at the port. Not much information is obtained from the monument. However, the sculptures of laborers was carrying a sack and work symbolizes respect for the workers in Belgium.




3. International Telegraph Union, Switzerland

For workers who work in the field of telecommunications, such as in postal, radio, and others, there are monuments especially in Switzerland. The monument is located in Bern and as a symbol of the celebration of 50 years for the International Telegraph Union (ITU).

The monument was established in 1922. 's Beautiful monuments, to be located in the middle of the pond. The monument consists of a carved human figures on the left and right, and in the middle there is a statue of a woman that seemed to unite the two sections.




4. Worker and kolkhoz Woman, Russia

One more well-known monument in European trade, the Woman Worker and kolkhoz. This monument you can see Russia Exhibition Center, Moscow. The monument is also one of the tallest monuments in the world trade, because it has a 24.5 meter high.  At the top of the monument there is a statue of a man and a woman. Statue of a man holding a woman holding a hammer and sickle that symbolizes the workers and peasants. The monument was built in 1937.



5. Michigan Labor Legacy Monument, U.S.

Want to know the coolest labor monument in the world? This is the Michigan Labor Legacy Monument is located on the square Hart Plaza, Detroit, USA. The monument consists of a granite stone 6 with reliefs depicting the workers and also a giant steel circle.

Steel circle that has a height of 19 meters and weigh up to 30 tons. Unique, the circle is not perfect because there is a small gap in the middle. Many people argue, the gap does not describe the completion of the mission of the U.S. labor movement.
